pyinterp.reduced_gaussian.time_zones(mesh, step_times, time, lon, lat, *, time_method='linear', interval=None, max_step_gap=None, num_threads=0)[source]#

Compute the zone each time step of a series needs.

The zone of a step holds exactly the corners read by the points whose date reads that step, with the same rule as interpolate(). Build the zones before reading any file, read for each step only the values of its zone, and give it to the Grid of the step. A step whose zone is empty is read by no point and can be left out of the series.

Parameters:
  • mesh (Mesh) – The mesh.

  • step_times (ArrayLike) – Dates of the steps of the series.

  • time (ArrayLike) – Dates of the points.

  • lon (ArrayLike) – Longitudes of the points, in degrees.

  • lat (ArrayLike) – Latitudes of the points, in degrees.

  • time_method (TimeMethod) – See interpolate().

  • interval (Duration) – See interpolate().

  • max_step_gap (Duration) – See interpolate().

  • num_threads (int) – Number of threads; 0 uses all the cores.

Returns:

One zone per step, in the order of step_times.

Return type:

list[Zone]
